Bosom Buddies Bristol is proud to announce our collaboration with local complementary therapists who specialize in supporting individuals through their breast cancer journey. Our therapists offer a range of treatments designed to alleviate symptoms, reduce stress, and promote overall wellbeing during and after treatment.

Each of our partner therapists has specific training in working with cancer patients and understands the unique challenges faced during treatment and recovery. Through our voucher system, we aim to make these beneficial therapies accessible to those who need them most.

All therapies are provided by fully insured professionals who have experience working with breast cancer patients. Treatments are tailored to individual needs and medical circumstances.

Victoria Kubiak

Healthcare Therapist

Victoria Kubiak is a healthcare therapist with over 30 years of experience in holistic treatments, advising on healthy living and optimal well-being for all age groups. She specializes in nutritional counselling & allergy therapy and aromatherapy massage. Victoria also works as a registered nutritional therapist for Penny Brohn UK and has a private practice. 

She emphasizes that complementary therapy works successfully alongside conventional medicine and is happy to liaise with other health care professionals to support her clients’ well-being. She is also the founder of the Kubiak Dementia Foundation.

Sally Page

The Page Practice

As a certified Oncology Massage Therapist and certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, Sally offers specialised cancer care treatments rooted in both compassion and extensive training. Her approach is entirely personalised, addressing the unique physical and emotional aspects of each individual’s cancer journey.

Whether you’re seeking respite, relief from swelling, a moment of relaxation, or help managing symptoms like nausea, pain, or peripheral neuropathy, Sally’s treatments are designed to support your personal goals and improve your overall well-being.

Zoe Macpherson

Feel Better Bristol

Zoe Macpherson is an advanced myofascial release therapist and scar specialist, with a background in sports and remedial massage. With two decades of experience in the NHS, leading the dietetic cancer services for adults and children with complex conditions, Zoe brings extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to her practice. Her personal experience with chronic pain allows her to work with sensitivity and compassion. She has a special interest in women’s and children’s health, pelvic health, chronic pain conditions, cancer care and trauma. Zoe is passionate about working with both mind and body in her treatments to support the body’s innate self healing potential and clients overall wellbeing.

Becki Taylor

Feel Better Bristol

Becki Taylor is a clinical myofascial release therapist and remedial massage therapist, as well as an Usui Reiki Master. She has a particular focus on working with pain, trauma, and cancer care, including palliative care support. Becki works intuitively with her clients, drawing on a wide range of techniques and teachings to help them find comfort and ease. She has been involved in holistic wellness for over 24 years and is trained in various modalities including oncology massage, microsystems acupuncture, and scar therapy. Becki also works as part of the St Peter’s Hospice Complementary Therapy team, providing end-of-life treatments.

Helena Dawson

Chessel Bay Therapies

Helena Dawson of Chessel Bay Therapies offers personalized, holistic support to help you find well-being, relaxation, and happiness, especially during cancer treatment and rehabilitation.

During your initial consultation, Helena will discuss your needs and create a tailored treatment plan, often combining therapies like Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, and Reiki for enhanced healing. Popular choices include Total Reflexology (combining facial and classical) and Reflexology with Indian Head Massage. She’ll also teach you self-care techniques to use between sessions, empowering you on your healing journey.

Jane Gurney

Full Circle Counselling

Full Circle Counselling – Jane Gurney is a warm and integrative counsellor and solution-focused hypnotherapist dedicated to helping clients achieve a more fulfilling life. Drawing on techniques from Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis approaches, Jane tailors her methods to support your unique goals. As an ADHD Practitioner, she also offers specialized guidance to help individuals navigate daily life, fostering acceptance and understanding.

With a background in supporting hospice patients and their families through end-of-life and bereavement, as well as working with NHS referrals, Jane brings extensive experience to her thriving private practice. She loves helping individuals find their inner self and become their own autonomous person, often incorporating creative exercises and tools into sessions. Jane has undertaken a Macmillan course for Cancer Care Support and has worked extensively with cancer patients within her Private Practice, the Hospice & Agency environments.

Jane is an Accredited Member of the NCPS and a Registered Member of the NCH, ensuring her work is professional, ethical, and fully insured.

Justine Waloch

Chartered Physiotherapist

Justine Waloch is a highly experienced Chartered Physiotherapist based in Bristol, with a career spanning nearly 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Lymphoedema Management and is a certified Decongestive Lymphatic Therapist, having trained in various approaches including Vodder, Foeldi, and Casley Smith.

Justine’s holistic approach integrates conventional Physiotherapy with complementary therapies drawing on her background training in acupuncture, yoga and breathing pattern retraining. She has a particular interest in the immune and lymphatic systems, specialising in lymphoedema management. Justine is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and MLD UK.

Brendagh O'Sullivan

Acupuncturist

Is an experienced acupuncturist practicing in Bristol and North Somerset, with over 30 years of experience. She graduated from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1986 and furthered her studies at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. Brendagh combines both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element styles of acupuncture, allowing for a highly flexible and adaptable approach to treatment.

She specialises in treating a wide variety of conditions, with a particular interest in cancer, chronic back pain, M.E., and issues related to fertility, menstruation, and menopause.

Brendagh is known for her down-to-earth approach and commitment to uncovering a unique diagnosis for each individual, helping them to manifest their full potential.

Sophie Griffiths

Physio Phase

Sophie is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 18 years of experience helping people move, recover, and feel their best. Sophie spent many years working within the NHS both at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Southmead Hospital, she now offers private physiotherapy care with a focus on supporting individuals through and beyond cancer treatment, based in Backwell, North Somerset.

With a background in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and oncology physiotherapy, Sophie has developed a special interest in rehabilitation following breast cancer.  She works holistically – combining clinical expertise with kindness, compassion and a deep understanding of the challenges that can come with treatment and recovery.

Sophie is trained in oncology scar massage, acupuncture and Pilates and is also a certified Pink Ribbon Exercise Instructor and Pinc & Steel qualified rehabilitation therapist.  Her approach is gentle, personalised and empowering – helping each client restore confidence, strength and comfort in their body.

She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative Care (ACPOPC) and an affiliate member of the Associate of Breast Surgery.

Dida Moore

Dragonfly Health Coaching

Dida is an accredited Health & Wellness Coach having completed her Diploma with the Health Coach’s Academy, has a Certificate in Cancer Coaching with Health Creations and trained as a Facilitator for the Living Well with Cancer programme, Penny Brohn Cancer Care UK.

She specialises in Health Coaching & Mentorship for people with Cancer and Health & Wellness Coaching for Mid Life and Beyond.

Her own diagnosis with cancer at the age of 37 heightened her determination to live life as the best version of herself and she is passionate about supporting and empowering others to do just that. We all have the resources within us to help ourselves, no matter what situation we find ourselves in.

As your coach her role is to shine the light so you can find your way. As your mentor she can support you with a toolkit of practical measures that have the power to change your life. With an emphasis on bite-size chunks, focusing on what is realistic and achievable in this moment for you, Dragonfly Coaching champions you to keep moving forward, make healthier lifestyle choices and regain motivation and purpose. Totally client led, her coaching will enable you to regain that sense of control that we often lose when life’s challenges leave us feeling overwhelmed or helpless.

Dida will help you to navigate the emotional and physical changes you may be experiencing and help you feel lighter both in mind and body. Sometimes we just need someone to champion us and walk beside us on our journey. She looks forward to being that person for you.

Yvonne Cattermole

Wellbeing Specialist

Yvonne Cattermole is a wellbeing specialist. She has a client-centred approach, supporting clients to release tension and regulate their nervous system, so enabling them to connect to their inherent ability to heal and repair. Yvonne has been a therapist for more than 25 years, providing reflexology, yoga, Thai massage and reiki. As part of her practice, she teaches breathing techniques for stress reduction, improved mental clarity and pain management. As well as Yvonne’s experience working with clients with cancer, she is known for supporting individuals who are living with chronic illness, particularly fatigue syndromes and stress-induced pain.

By working collaboratively, Yvonne will aim to support you to gain a greater sense of self and discover simple ways to improve your wellbeing and experience a sense of calm.

Our Voucher System

How It Works

Our voucher system provides breast cancer patients with access to complimentary therapy sessions at a reduced cost. Each eligible individual can receive vouchers for up to two therapy sessions with our partner practitioners.

To ensure your vouchers are ready when you need them, please request them after you have arranged your appointment with your chosen therapist.

Simple Process:

Eligibility: Anyone who has received a breast cancer diagnosis within the Bristol NHS Group (South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset) within the last three years is eligible for our voucher program.

Receive two flexible vouchers to apply toward the therapies that best support your well-being.

About the Vouchers & Therapies

The Bosom Buddies Therapy Voucher System is designed to provide funded access to a range of complementary therapies for breast cancer patients in and around Bristol. These vouchers allow you to choose therapies that can support your wellbeing during and after treatment.

Our carefully selected therapies,  are chosen for their potential to help manage side effects, reduce stress, aid recovery, and promote overall wellbeing.

Yes, safety is our top priority. All therapists participating in our voucher system are highly qualified and experienced in working with cancer patients. They understand the nuances of various treatments and will conduct a thorough consultation with you to ensure the chosen therapy is appropriate and safe for your individual circumstances. We strongly advise you to also inform your medical oncologist or healthcare team about any complementary therapies you are undertaking.

Our therapists offer a diverse range of therapies, including, massage therapy, reflexology, acupuncture, mindfulness, scar therapy, lymphoedema management, counselling. Our aim is to provide choice, as we know every individual’s needs are unique.

Eligible patient receives 2 vouchers, each valued at £50.  Our goal is to provide meaningful support through these sessions.

Because our system is designed for you to request your vouchers after you have already coordinated with a therapist, they are intended for immediate use.

To ensure the best experience, please keep the following in mind:

  • Request After Booking: We ask that you only request your voucher codes once you have a confirmed appointment date and time with one of our partner practitioners.

  • 12 Month Window: Once issued, vouchers must be redeemed at your scheduled appointment within 12 months of the issue date.

  • Timely Support: We encourage you to attend your session within this timeframe to ensure you receive the full benefit of the complementary therapy available.

You are welcome to use all your vouchers with one therapist if you find a great connection or try different therapists and therapies to explore what works best for you.

After you have booked your appointment you can apply for vouchers by contacting our support team on email.

Our network of therapists operates at various locations across Bristol and the surrounding areas. Each therapist’s details will include their practice location.

Please contact your therapist directly as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.  Please note that therapists may have their own cancellation policies, usually requiring 24-48 hours notice to avoid losing your voucher for that session.

Eligibility & Other Considerations

This program is open to breast cancer patients currently undergoing treatment, in recovery, or living with chronic side effects, who are part of the Bosom Buddies support group and reside in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Due to demand and limitations with funding, there may occasionally be a waiting list for bookings. Your therapist will be aware of any restrictions.

It is crucial to discuss your full medical history and current treatment with your chosen therapist during your initial consultation. They will assess your suitability for the therapy and adapt it if necessary.
